New AV. How'd your BG fair?

A new term was coined today for the Horde players who stubbornly maintain the attitude that defense in "the new AV" has no place.

Henceforth, they are to be known as "zergtards".

When I queue for a BG, I queue with the intention of doing my best. In the grand scheme of things, my Shaman's gear is nothing short of laughable (2 x S1 weapons, 0.5 PvP blues). That doesn't mean, however, that I roll over and stop trying at the first sign of Alliance opposition. At the very least, I observe...do that enough and you start to see what works and what doesn't work on a regular basis.

WoW, Casually: Patch 2.4 preview

Each week, Robin Torres writes WoW, Casually for the player who has 2 hours or less to play at a time. Well, it used to be weekly and it will be again, starting today.

When last I wrote, which was ages ago, I promised to answer some reader mail about getting groups quickly. And then I vanished for a bit. I'm sorry about the interruption in this column and I will get to the reader mail, but not this week. With the new patch getting closer to release, I think I need to talk about some of the changes that will affect those of us with limited playtime.

Funny ideas abot PVE in World of Warcraft

I think it's great that PVErs/raiders are gonna be able to get free PVP epics in addition to the their normal PVE epics from raids many have on farm status. In fact not only should they get these PVP/Arena items but they should also get all the other fun things they are missing from not PVPing. I say Blizzard should give the PVErs the other stuff they are missing out on. So from now on:

Who should kill Arthas?

It's pretty clear from Kael's survival in Tempest Keep (we'll see about the Sunwell; I'm hoping he betrays Kil'jaeden and fights on your side) and Maiev being the one to finish off Illidan that Blizzard is at least smart enough to not be allowing really major lore characters to just get downed by a raid and looted with no fanfare. And if you don't know that Arthas is the endboss of WotLK by now, I'm guessing you reached this page by mis-clicking a link that you thought would lead to naked pictures.

That said: who would you like to see show up and deliver the deathblow to Arthas?

World Of Warcraft choice: epic flyer, gear

I've got 2 70 with their epics and a 68 that will probably have her epic when she hits 70. They do make things faster and easier. I do just fine in instances and in some cases even top the charts.

However I've done both. On my Spriest I got her FSW and spellstrike sets before her epic. I think the trick is to find a good medium. A lot of people hit gear hard and a big part of that is gems and enchants. People will easily spend 100's of gold for blue gems instead of the slightly lower green ones at a fraction of the price. I'll take 2 less sta or 2 less spell dmg for a ton less gold and use what I save to fund my epic flyer.

The different players in a pick-up group (PUG)

This is just to share my personal experience on the fun and fustration of running instances with pick-up groups. Maybe it is sterotype, but I have noticed that certain classes display certain traits. Feel free to chip in!

My dad is a huge WoW player

My dad is a huge WoW player, and I would love to get him something for Christmas that he would enjoy that is WoW related. As a non player, I have no idea where to start. Anyone got any ideas about a good present?

While an enhancement shaman

While an enhancement shaman cannot provide the same amount of mana return as a shadow priest, the small amount is very good. Grace of air totem is a huge boost to the three casters. ImpDS for spell dmg from the priest and ProM as well as PoH and renew for healing. Fire mage for the single target bosses, with locks bringing all they can to the table. I find that priest > paladin for 5 man heroic and non heroic instances. Full party healing is what a priest does best. I do take a rogue quite often, it is unfortunate they suffer so many of the issues of melee dps.. A shaman is truly better than a rogue for a 5 man IMO. Totems + the ability to back away and heal himself, or use effective range dps if the boss has some sort of aoe dmg ability (whirlwind/earthquake etc) as well as heroism means that enhancement shaman > rogue in my groups. As far as the warrior goes, the more dmg he can mitigate the more dps I can do as a holy priest. I have found that that small additional dps can really speed up an instance.

if anyone had tried out the guide

hey guys Just wondering if anyone had tried out the guide from "Link Snipped" it sounds pretty decent but you cant really tell nowa days The free ebook offered is kinda cool

you'll actually deliver

Can anyone tell me who says "Whatever, all you have to do is will yourself there".. from WoW? Must be an NPC. I will give a prize to the correct answer. Interesting first post. Prove to me that the quote is from WOW (why do you believe it is...?)...and tell me what the prize is, and give me some assurance that you'll actually deliver, then......
