Henceforth, they are to be known as "zergtards".

When I queue for a BG, I queue with the intention of doing my best. In the grand scheme of things, my Shaman's gear is nothing short of laughable (2 x S1 weapons, 0.5 PvP blues). That doesn't mean, however, that I roll over and stop trying at the first sign of Alliance opposition. At the very least, I observe...do that enough and you start to see what works and what doesn't work on a regular basis.

New AV. How'd your BG fair?

A new term was coined today for the Horde players who stubbornly maintain the attitude that defense in "the new AV" has no place.

One thing I've noticed lately in AV is that there's one pivotal moment that usually exposes the nature of a particular group of players and almost predicts the outcome of the match: the flow of Horde players at IBGY.

If the stream of dots on my mini-map proceeds north past the flag, we lose. If a couple of dots break off and follow me to Galv, we lose. If a bunch of dots break off and follow me to Galv, we not only win, but we come close to a "perfect" match...every single time.

The matches where the Horde push north and don't stop at all at Galv are the same matches where we end up having to claim SH and IW Bunkers at least twice before they cap...if they cap at all. They're the matches where Alliance is able to ninja SPGY 3-4 times (at least) before the end of the match. Those are the matches with 3-4 fools pulling Van one after the other only to have 3-4 of their offense team mates get narfed by AoEs and sent back to SHGY (if we're lucky) because "it's fun".

The matches where only a couple of people form up in Galv's room work out about the same...the only difference is that more people wind up vocalizing their frustration over the zergtards' sloppy and indifferent style of play.

When we get a good 10+ people in Galv's room, we know it's going to be a strong match. The purpose isn't to defeat and hold the Alliance...it's just to thin out their offense a bit before they finally clear out Galv's room. I don't go back to Galv's room after I'm killed there...I push north and shore up the D at one of the critical bunkers (SH or IW). Invariably, the other folks in Galv's room do the same, or at least stop by the bunkers to make sure they're well defended before we push north. In essence, we have some D in the south of the map reclaiming FW structures to keep the Alliance on their heels, and then the "secondary" defense starts at Galv and rolls up the field until the bunkers are burning, the bonus honor is capping out, and there's not much left to do but stomp Van.

Did one run today that ended up being worth over 800 honor...560+ of that was bonus honor for destroying bunkers etc. The match itself was over in less than 40 minutes, and it was *fun*. Everyone was happy, the HKs were adding up on both sides...there was just a good vibe throughout the BG.

Queue for the next one and all you see is "ZERG!" "zeeeeergggg" "ZERG U MORONS!!" "DEFENSE IS STOOPID!! ZERG!!" "ZEERRRRRRGGG lulz!" We lost that one with 62 bonus honor to show for our efforts.

So there you have it. The origin of the term "zergtard". Use it freely.
